S-Network Global Indexes LLC is a publisher and developer of proprietary and custom indexes. S-Network was founded in 1997 to serve as a consultancy to the financial services industry. Since its founding, S-Network has specialized in indexes, indexation and index-based products, including ETFs.
S-Network has provided in-depth consulting services to some of the world’s leading financial institutions, including Deutsche Borse AG, UBS AG, State Street Bank & Trust, Deutsche Bank AG, the American Stock Exchange, Speer Leads & Kellogg, Barclays Global Investors and other leading firms.
Among its accomplishments, S-Network was instrumental in the structuring and development of the STOXX Index, which serves as the most widely referenced benchmark for European and Euro zone equities. Through UBS, S-Network participated in the early development of the innovative Morningstar Style Box family of indexes.
Starting in 2006, S-Network began publishing specialty indexes covering sub-sectors and investment themes. Currently S-Network publishes indexes covering the Alternative Energy, Water, Nuclear Energy, Coal, Gaming, Maritime and Infrastructure sectors. Additional equity indexes are in various stages of research and development and are not yet scheduled for production. These indexes involve various investment themes and categories, including Hard Assets, Globalization and Emerging Markets.
Many S-Network indexes are compiled with the assistance and support of partner organizations, which maintain high levels of expertise in specific sectors or regions.
S-Network indexes have been licensed to a number of major financial intermediaries in the US and Europe and serve as the basis for ETFs, Structured Products, Mutual Funds and UITs, S-Network indexes are also used by major institutional investors for benchmarking and passive asset management purposes.
S-Network Global Indexes LLC – Principals
Joseph LaCorte. Joseph is Managing Member of S-Network, a New York based consulting firm specializing in the development of indexes, quantitative asset management products and structured products, including exchange traded funds and over-the-counter derivatives.
In the past five years, Joseph served as a Managing Director of UBS, with responsibility for that firm’s global exchange traded fund initiative.
Prior to that, Joseph served as Managing Member of S-Network LLC, where he maintained responsibility for key clients, including the American Stock Exchange and State Street Bank & Trust.
Before joining S-Network, Joseph was a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank responsible for that bank’s US index arbitrage and portfolio trading businesses. He worked as part of the management teams at both Nomura and Kidder Peabody in the same capacity.
James Pacetti. Jim Pacetti is a Member of S-Network, responsible for business development. Prior to Joining S-Network, Jim was President of ETF International Associates, Inc., a New York based consulting firm specializing in the development and marketing of exchange traded funds, closed-end funds, unit investment trusts and indexes. Jim’s has maintained responsibility for long-term consulting relationships with the American Stock Exchange, Dow Jones Indexes, Deutsche Asset Management, FTSE, Investors Bank and Trust, Morningstar, Northern Trust Global Investments, and Barclays Global Investors iShares.
Jim was formerly a Marketing Manager at S-Network where he assisted clients in listing indexed, enhanced and actively managed investment funds on the American Stock Exchange. Prior to S-Network, Jim was responsible for institutional marketing to banks, derivatives desks, mutual funds and financial intermediaries for Deutsche Bank’s CountryBaskets Index Fund.
Jim’s early experience included roles as Assistant Vice President in Chase Manhattan Bank’s Structured Products Group and Product Manager in Standard & Poor s Index Products Group, where he served on the S&P 500 Index Committee.
Richard Phillips. Richard is a Member of S-Network.
Over the past five years, Richard worked as a senior consultant to UBS, with responsibility for that firm’s EUR 1 billion+ European exchange traded fund initiative.
Prior to that, Richard served as a member of S-Network LLC, where he maintained responsibility for key clients, including Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Borse and Goldman Sachs (SLK).
Before joining S-Network, Richard served as President of HPCC, Inc., a New York consulting firm specializing in strategic planning for large financial institutions. Over a fifteen-year period, Richard was responsible for overseeing long-term relationships with Deutsche Bank, UBS, Swiss Bank Corporation, Societe Generale, National Westminster Bank, Deutsche Borse, Eurex, the German Economics Ministry, the Czech State (Central) Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the United Nations Development Program, among others.
Patrick Shaddow. Patrick Shaddow is a Member of S-Network, responsible for index development and maintenance. Patrick has been closely involved in the development of a majority of the indexes currently in production by S-Net Global Indexes. Prior to joining S-Network, Patrick served as a research analyst for Dow Jones Indexes, an index provider based in Princeton, New Jersey.
Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Rutgers University School of Business.
